I only had the chance to see Evan once, after the band concert in December. What I saw was how much he was adored by all. Watching his family hold and cherish him was a special kind of gift. I grieve the memories that won't be had - watching the marching band finish practice, directing the band with flapping arms, and squealing with delight from a gaggle of high school kids that adore him. I hurt for the love to be had with his parents and family.

Amanda and Andy, we are so sorry for your loss.

Grace, peace, and love-

Amanda and Andy, everybody we all ever meet changes our lives in some way. You have inspired all of us and brought us closer to each our own families. You have our deepest sympathies and we grieve for your loss. Know that it is God’s plan, through Faith in Christ, to raise those that are his and give them resurrection bodies that are like Christ’s. There will be great joy when you both see Evan and Mark again in those wonderful bodies that will never sicken and be free of the curses we endure today. May the Lord give you strength and comfort until the day of His coming.

Andy and Amanda,
Your unconditional love for your children flows through you and is a true testament of how amazing you both are. Evan and Mark are in Heaven together and we're sure they're sharing that love you have taught to them with each other. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy are with you, your family, and everyone Mark and Evan have touched. We will continue to pray for you all in the days, months, and years ahead.

Amanda and Andy , my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family ! Evan has touched more people in his brief time on this earth than you will ever know . Sweet little Evan fought so hard and I feel Mark was with him all the way and when he couldn’t fight any longer , Mark carried Evan to his Heavenly Home. May you find comfort knowing your boys are together and you will see them again . You and Andy are so loved and prayers continue daily for you both .

There are not many individuals who can rally so many people to pray, love and support but Evan did exactly that in his life. We are grateful for the joy he brought to his family and all who loved him.

I loved walking into my house after work on a Saturday and there was Evan lying in the floor asleep. I have to say, I might have awakened him a little so I could hold him. Thank you for sharing him with us.

From the first time I got to hold you buddy, I knew you were special. I saw how your daddy held you and how your mom gently smiled at the thought of you. Evan, you are an answer to prayer. You were such a wonderful gift for them and at a much needed time. I’m thankful for what you taught my dear friends in your short time with us. You taught your dad how to love and treasure people deeply in a time in his life where I thought he had mastered this gift. I saw you teach your mom how to push through. I’ve seldom met a woman with her kind of strength. You have made her stronger. You showed them what it meant to be brave when faced with unreal challenge. Thanks for loving your parents well. They mean a lot to me and I’m thankful for how your life has made them better and even easier to love.

Amanda & Andy,
When no words seem good enough, I’d like to share a prayer instead. It’s from a book that I love, and it’s a prayer I will be praying over you guys.
“Dear Lord ,
...when my brain begs me to doubt you God—as it most certainly does—I find relief for my unbelief by laying down my human assessments and assumptions. I turn from the tree of knowledge and fix my gaze on the tree of life. Let my soul be cradled by Your divine assurance. Your Son. Who completely understands. And who will walk me through every step of this if I keep my focus on Him.”

We love you guys.
