In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Little Flock Baptist Church “Next Step” building fund. Everett was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church and desired to support his church in any way that would make room for more souls to come to know his Jesus. An alternate suggestion would be a donation to the U of L Health Heart Hospital, Jewish Hospital. Everett had great appreciation for his doctors and surgeons there.
Everett loved his family, loved his church, and loved his Jesus. He was often described as kind because his servant heart compelled him to help friends, neighbors, and family members whether they asked for help, or he just noticed a need. He was resourceful and an excellent problem-solver. He was a skilled mechanic. He worked on airplanes in the Air National Guard and continued to use his skills as a maintenance supervisor and worker at First National Bank where he spent much of his career.
Everett deeply loved his wife of 67 years (Wilma) and tenderly cared for her through her own health challenges. He spoke lovingly of his children and displayed great pride in each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everett will be greatly missed but left a rich legacy that will continue to reflect his impact for many generations to come.
