Florence Marie Reinhard Willett passed away in San Antonio, TX on June 20, 2016, at the age of 95. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky July 21st, 1920 to John and Florence Reinhard. Florence attended public school in Louisville, graduating from Louisville Girl’s High School. Florence met Norris M. Willett, Jr. on a blind date, and they married six months later on July 3, 1946 in Louisville. They lived happily together for 46 years, working, traveling and gardening. Florence worked as a bookkeeper and credit manager at Procter and Gamble, as well as a temporary worker for Kelly Girls. Florence and Norris were active in their church, Zion United Church of Christ and the Kentuckiana Girl Scout Council. Florence was a volunteer at Dare to Care, PTA, and Brooklawn Child Services. She was a past matron and longtime member of Purity Chapter 116 of Eastern Star. Florence moved to San Antonio in 2006 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Norris preceded Florence in death, as did her parents and son-in-law. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Reeve (Raymond) of San Antonio, TX, Alice and Ken Reising of Clayton NC, sister-in-laws Sara Williamson of Bristol, TN, and Betty Willett of Shelbyville, KY as well as nieces, nephews and many friends . In addition, she leaves behind her chosen family in San Antonio: Locksley, Don and Tim Simmons, Kathy Bruck, and Robert and Dixie Yarbrough. Florence was a giving and kind person, loved cooking, entertaining, travel, playing poker and bingo. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank the caregivers, med techs, and Director of Nursing at Isle of Watercrest Alamo Ranch Memory Care Unit, her friend Stella, as well as Seasons Hospice Staff for their loving and compassionate care.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 28th from 2:00-8:00 pm at Arch Heady Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Boulevard Louisville, KY, 40215. Funeral Services will also be at Heady’s Wednesday, June 29th at 10:00 am, with internment following at Resthaven Cemetery.
