FOREST D. "PETE" MILBY, 87, passed away the morning of Saturday, October 6, 2012, in the comfort of his own home, with his loving wife by his side to join the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. He was an original native of Green County, KY, who resided in Louisville since the early 40's. He honorably served in the US Army, was a member of the Okolona Christian Church until his illness prevented him from actively attending. He enjoyed building his own lawn service throughout most of his early adult life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eva Jean (Oliver) Milby; two sons, Gary Milby (Judy) and Mark Milby (Kelly); one daughter, Jennifer Williams; grandchildren, Trisha Williams-Akbeg (Burak), Christopher Milby, Kyle, Hayley, Medley; and his sister, Mae Richards; as well as numerous family and friends.
His funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way, with entombment following in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Monday at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8519 Preston Highway and he will lie-in-state at the church from 1 p.m. until his time of service on Tuesday.
