He was a retired employee of International Harvester and attended Olaton Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jackie Karnes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Karnes; sons, Tommy, Guy and Jerry Karnes; daughters, Mary Jane Clark, Darlene Swift and Tasha Johnson; stepdaughters, Toni Matthews, Tina Simpson and Billie Jo Duvall; sister, Marie Karnes; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday after 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Please leave your condolences for the family at www.evergreen-louisville.com
