Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer "Monk" and Rose Walker, his brothers Joe Walker and Frank Walker, and his wonderful wife of 55 years, Saundra "Sandy" Neuling Walker.
Here to carry on his memory is his son Christopher Walker, daughter-in-law Jessica Burns Walker, their sons Cassidy Walker and Joshua Walker, his sister Barbara Walker Recktenwald, her five children Bob, Gary, Michael, Jimmy, and Anne Beisler, as well as the members of the entire Neuling family.
Gene proudly served for 6 years in the US Army, going on to have a career as a pipefitter. He spent many summers enjoying boating trips with his family and friends, was a skilled cabinetmaker, and he and his late wife were avid bowlers participating in many leagues throughout their lives. He also enjoyed golfing post-retirement.
A visitation for Gene will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218, with a chapel service to follow at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife on the afternoon of Monday, August 18th.
