Fred is preceded in passing by his parents, Alvy and Pearl Crowder. Here to carry on his memory is his adoring wife of 28 years, Peggy Crowder; children Jeffrey Crowder (Tammy), Brian Crowder (Stacey), Kimberly Thompson (Joe), Rebecca Ferguson, and Miki Ferguson; grandchildren Caitlin Crowder, Olivia Crowder, Jessica Still, Ryan Kean (Katherine), Alyssa Kean, Tyler Foote (Taylor), and Jacob Campbell.
Fred graduated from Louisville Male High School, class of 1960. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves and obtained his Associate and Bachelor degrees from University of Louisville, and his MBA from Webster University. Fred went on to retire as Material Handling Supervisor from Ford Motor Co. after diligently working for 30 years. He also briefly served as a police officer for Louisville Metro, and went on to continue to volunteer for the 7th division. He was a loyal member of Highview Baptist Church for over 30 years, and previously attended Bethlehem Baptist Church. Fred was a loyal UK fan, contributing so much over the years that he was deemed member of the UK Fellow Society. He also sang in the Thoroughbred Chorus, was a member of the FBI Citizens Academy, and was a Cub Scout Master of Pack 383.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service in Fred’s honor will take place immediately at 2:00 pm. This service will be streamed live over our Facebook page, to participate "like" our Facebook page 'Arch L. Heady at Resthaven' and you will receive a notification when the service begins streaming at 2:00 pm on Friday.
