Garnett Ford, 92, of Louisville passed away Saturday morning, October 5, 2013. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Army air Corps for eight years. After his retirement from Ford Motor Company he enjoyed traveling, gardening and ballroom dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby and Betty Ford from Adair County, his sisters Aileen and Joyce, and an infant son Michael.
Garnett is survived by Irma Ford, his loving wife of 66 years, his children Edwin Ford, Hilde (Richard) Stepler, Walter (Kay) Ford and Richard (Patricia) Ford, as well as 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Garnett's life will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the event room of Arch L. Heady Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus.
