

Gary was born and raised in Edison, NJ. He moved to Kentucky to attend Murray State University and earned a BS in Marketing. He made Kentucky his home and worked many years in the sales industry. More recently, Gary was the owner/operator of Affordable Builders, remodeling homes in the Saint Matthews area.
Gary enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed spending time at the family farm on the Ohio River. He was an avid golfer who played often with his close friends of many years. He was also a vintage car and western film enthusiast, a keen reader of James Patterson novels, and an ardent fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
Gary was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished camaraderie and revelry, relishing the opportunity to tell a joke or share an anecdote. His unwavering loyalty to friends shone brightest during difficult times, when he was always there to gladly and selflessly lend a hand. He will be missed.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents Eugene M and Louise Doda; and his fiancée Kimberlee Bailey Kessler. Survivors include his daughter Rachel Doda of Austin, TX; brother Eugene Doda (Rani); and sister Pamela Hawkins (Mark).
A private memorial gathering will be held at Captain’s Quarters Restaurant in the River View Terrace area on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brown Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
