Gary Albert Ross

Gary Albert Ross, 78, passed away on September 28th, 2026. Gary was the son of Viola Purvis and Edgar Parker Ross. The youngest of four children, he grew up with his brother, Donald, and sisters, Phylis and Patty. He attended Preble Shawnee in Camden, Ohio, and was baptized at Silver Creek Church in Berea, Kentucky. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam as a boatswain’s mate.

For almost 32 years, Gary shared his life with his wife, Irene Ross. Together, they enjoyed nature and a shared love of horses, riding many miles through several states. Their time spent camping and gathered around campfires held special meaning throughout their years together.

Gary’s family includes his wife, D. Irene; his children, David L. Ross (Carrie), Gary A. Ross (Carmen), Thomas D.J. Ross (Lori H.), and Kayla Renee Allene Ross; and his bonus son, Cody Bullock (Shannon Faye), whom he loved as his own.

He was a grandfather to Joshua David Ross, Faith McKinzie Ross, Allen J. Ross, Tiffany A. Wagle, Kyle T. Ross, Nicholas A. Ross, Alice Evans, Kalina, and Levi. His step-grandchildren include Chris, Parick, and Michael Antonelli, Kenith A. Gonzalez, and Ryan N. Martinez; and his great-grandchild, Alora Wagle.

Throughout an illness that affected him on and off for nearly eight years, Gary continued to fight for life and family. He was loved and will always be missed.
