Born on February 2, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky, Gary lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his courage and sacrifice.
Following his military service, Gary dedicated his career to protecting and serving his community as a firefighter with the Louisville Fire Department and retired as a Captain, after a career marked by hard work, leadership, and commitment to others. Whether serving his country, his city, or his family, Gary approached every responsibility with humility, determination, and a strong sense of duty.

Those who knew him will remember his sharp wit, sense of humor, intelligence, stubborn determination, and the kindness he showed to others.
Gary enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing golf, and collecting stamps and coins. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures and valued time spent with family and friends above all else.
