George Hugh Todd, a cherished family man, esteemed educator, and proud U.S. Army veteran, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on August 23, 1935, in Clay, Kentucky, George's life was a testament to his loving, kind, and thoughtful nature.
George was predeceased by his parents, Carville Todd and Grace Springer, as well as his sister, Reva Sutton. His legacy of love and dedication lives on through his beloved wife of 41 years, the former Brenda Crain, and their children: Brian Clark, Robbie Hatfield, Reanna Saling, Bryan Todd, and Brett Todd. George was a proud grandfather to Christopher Saling, Brittany Moneymaker, Josh Brown, Justin Brown, Eric Todd, Erin Todd, Sarah Todd, Emily Todd, and Lydia Todd. His joy was further multiplied by the presence of his great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense happiness to his life.
For over three decades, George served as a vocational principal, shaping the lives of countless students with his wisdom and compassion.
His commitment to education and the betterment of his community was unwavering. A veteran of the U.S. Army, George carried the values of service and integrity throughout his life, influencing all who knew him.
George's interests were as vast as his heart. He found solace in boating, exploring new destinations through travel, and spending time on the farm, where he was often found fooling around, much to the delight of his family. His laughter and love for life were infectious, creating memories that his family and friends will treasure forever.
George Hugh Todd's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family, his students, and his country. His gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. George's life was a beautiful reflection of the values he held dear, and his legacy will continue to inspire those he has left behind. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the enduring impact he has made on the world.
A visitation will occur on Sunday, July 6th from 1pm to 7pm at Arch L. Heady and Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., Louisville, KY 40222. A funeral service will take place on Monday, July 7th at 12pm, with visitation prior, from 10am to 12pm at Arch L. Heady and Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., Louisville, KY 40222. Following the funeral service, burial will be in Center Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 9199 Cub Run Hwy, Munfordville, KY 42765 at 2:00pm (Central Standard Time).
