Dr. Zenger was the epitome of the expression 'a gentleman and a scholar'. More than that he was a loving husband, father, and friend. I only knew him a few years but was impressed by his kindness and love of his beautiful wife, June. Few people make the positive impact on our world that he did in his profession. He may not be known by many who benefited by his work but they will never forget how it may have changed their lives. I will miss you, Dr. Zenger.

I was a student at UofL back in 1994 and can still remember the informative way Dr Zenger would talk with us.  He made me write reports every night to be discussed the next day;  and I can remember reluctantly doing so.  I now see the importance of that inconvienience to my social life.  My condolences to the family.  His wisdom will be missed.

It made me sad to hear about Dr. Zenger's passing.  He was special to me when I was a young man.  Dr. Zenger saved my life.  I can never repay him for what he did for me but, I wanted you to know how deeply thankful and fortunate I have been just knowing Dr. George Zenger. I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Zenger's passing.  I know how difficult it is to lose a loved one as I lost my mother 3/19/11.  I have cherished memories working with Dr. Zenger and Dr. Farnsley at Audubon for over 10 years.  I fondly remember seeing all of you at various times during my time at Audubon.  I know he will be sorely missed but knowing he is with God is a blessed thing.  Know that my prayers are with you.

Dr. Zenger's dealth leaves a great void in the field of Nuclear Medicine.  As a retired technologist, I appreciate his many years of support and encouragment he demonstrated for Nuclear Medicine students and technologists.  He truly believed that working as a team, the technologist and the physican could provide the best possible diagnosis for each patient.  He was also supportive of the state technologist's professional society and respected by those in the profession. My sympathy to his family and friends who were fortunate to have him in their lives. Having grown up with the family I am deeply sadden by the death of Dr. Zenger. I hope my message will communicate my sorrow and feelings toward the family.

To the Zenger family, I am not sure you could ever know how important Dr. Zenger was to the Nuclear Medicine Technology community.  I first met Dr. Zenger as a student in 1995.  He challenged me; but at the same time, he encouraged me.  After graduating, I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Zenger at Audubon Hospital.  I have never met a more hard working and compassionate physician.  He worked side by side with technologists, always letting them know how important they were to making sure the patient had the best possible study.  He was always teaching.  
My last encounter with Dr. Zenger was the wonderful opportunity of working with him at Jefferson Community and Technical College.  He was our medical director and always made sure that students knew how important the technologist was in our field.  
A couple of years ago, the Kentucky Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologists named the student grant after Dr. Zenger.  The school received a plaque with his picture on it.  That plaque hangs in our classroom today.  As long as I am at JCTC, I will make sure that future students always know how much Dr. Zenger contributed to Nuclear Medicine Technology.  He will surely be missed.

I was saddened to hear that Dr. Zenger passed away this weekend. I have great love for the entire Zenger family. Although I am no longer close geographically I feel connected emotionally and will cherish his memory. It was an honor to know him and to have been able to spend time with him.
