Hicks, Gilbert Ray, 67, of Louisville, transitioned to his eternal life on August 2, 2019. He was a horse racing enthusiast and a University of Louisville fan. Gilbert worked for Cardinal Aluminum for 26 years and a family home provider for Tri-Generations Louisville for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Pearl Hicks; sisters, Barbara Walker and Faye Craig; and previous wife, Donna Hicks.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Bonnie Hicks; daughters, Traci Halfacre (Brandon), Jami Glass (Chad) and grandson, Detroit Satterley; stepchildren, Bessica Wooten, Bobby Thompson Jr. (Shira), Teddy Satterley, Larry Satterley, Patrick Satterly (Amanda), and Adam Satterley; siblings, Georgie Duvall (Kay), Kenny Hicks, and Rosie Sparks; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10 am at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel officiated by Bobby Thompson, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 pm-8 pm at the funeral home.
