Gilbert Ray Thompson, 87, of Louisville, KY passed away on August 5, 2024. Born on November 2, 1936 in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Crawford and Ruth Thompson. Gilbert served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Joy” Thompson; and his sister Joyce Weir.
He is survived by his children, Gary Thompson (Lisa) and Joseph D.Lile, II; grandchildren, Tim Thompson (Elizabeth), Kira Thompson, Heather Lile, and Tyler Thompson; great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh, Kysen, and Samuel; and his sister, Edith Sandlin.
A visitation for Gilbert will be held on August 15, 2024 from 12:00p.m.-2:00p.m, at Evergreen Funeral Home. A funeral service will directly follow at 2:00p.m. Gilbert will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
