She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Dorothy Simpson Carney; sister, Wanda Sanford; and brother, Leroy "Sonny" Carney, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lester Colwell; children, Lester "Butch" Colwell and Pam Jacobs; grandchildren, Dustin Colwell and Jessica and Stephanie Jacobs; and siblings, Donnie and Glenn Carney and Genean Reece.
Funeral service will be held at noon Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son Okolona Funeral Home 8519 Preston Hwy. with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8pm Thursday.
