With deep sorrow the family of Gloria Jean Meyer announces her passing on November 3, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on October 22, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio. Gloria grew up in Blanchester, Ohio and was a graduate of Blanchester High School. She served her local community as a past president of the Fairdale Lioness Club, a role that reflected her commitment to giving her time and leadership in service to others. An artist at heart, Gloria found enduring purpose and joy in creative work—painting, drawing, and ceramics were not simply hobbies, but a true passion. With steady generosity, she loved to teach and to share that passion with others, offering both skill and encouragement in equal measure.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory four children: Jeffrey S. Brown (Julia), Tina M. Carroll (Kurt), Gina D. Troutman (Scott), and Jennifer L. Ortel (David); and her honorary son, Joseph Hayes (Nilda). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kristina Pippen, Veronica Calvin, Sarah Stump, Travis Carroll, Christopher Brown, and Zachary Chreste; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter on the way; and her brother, David Irvin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen V. Meyer; her parents, Stanley Harry Irvin and Margaruite Veronica Irvin; her sister, Victoria Taylor; her brother, Doug Irvin; and her granddaughter, Erica Lynn Brown.
A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to two of Gloria's favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Ride of Pride Equine Sanctuary also known as ROPES (please send donations via Venmo to @stacia-coyle).
