

76, of Louisville, and formerly of Madison, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at University of Louisville Hospital. Mr. Scofield was a graduate of Syracuse University. He was a retired executive for Verizon and had served his country in the U.S. Army. During his 30 years in Madison, he always gave back to the community through volunteering his services. He was a councilman and served on the Planning and Zoning boards for many years. Mr. Scofield attended Southeast Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Olive Scofield; and a sister, Gerene Disburger. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kay Scofield; children, Glenn (Kris) Scofield, Kathy Scofield and Dan (Jeanne) Scofield; a sister, Arletta Evans; sister and brother-in-law, Karen (Paul) Barton; grandchildren, Logan Alexander, Garrett Michael and Daniel James and several nieces and nephews. His Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fireside chapel at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday. Services are under the direction of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
