Guy Joseph Mackey Jr.

Mr. Mackey retired from C. Lee Cook Manufacturing Co. in 1994, after 47 years as a machinist.

He served as a tank driver and gunner in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church.

Mr. Mackey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Joann Goss, by his parents; Guy Mackey Sr. and Margaret Lucas Burgin, his brother; Paul Burgin and his sister; Gayle Mackey Gramig.

He is survived by his two sons; Gary Mackey of St. Louis, MO and Timothy Mackey; his granddaughter, Lauren Mackey (Christine Gamlin) of St. Louis; his sister, Patsy Burgin Mayer; his cousin, Louis “Pete” Colgate of Florence, KY; his sister in law, Doris Cochran of Rochester, MN and Betty Norris of Crestwood, KY and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Guy will be held at 10 am on Saturday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave., with interment at Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Friday.
