Gene was born 1 of 6 siblings: Ruby Allen (deceased), William "Chick" (deceased), and Eleanor "Sissie" Montgomery, Liber "Lois" Burton (deceased), Barbara Link, Virginia and Nathaniel (deceased) McKenzie, Hester "Fennie" and Timothy McNair.
Eugene is survived by his children Charisse Montgomery Spalding and Christopher Montgomery (Chief Warrant Officer 2, US Army); His grandchildren: Corbin Spalding, Carrington Spalding and Cadence Montgomery; His Great grandchildren: Caleigh, Cori, Camari, and Carsyn.
A memorial service will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218 on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 12PM.
