He was born September 7, 1922 in Louisville to the late Oliver A. Burry and Alma Ballwey Burry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Burry; and three brothers.
First and foremost in his life was his love and devotion to his family. He was a devoted father of four children; Robert, Deborah, Michael and David (Linda); six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Harold was born and raised in a very strong St. Elizabeth Catholic Family in the Germantown neighborhood. He enlisted with three other “St. E’s Chaps” for the Navy, upon hearing of Pearl Harbor.
Harold was a sports enthusiast; an avid “scratch” golfer, shooting his age numerous times in his life. In his younger days, he played “fast pitch” softball and tournament bowling. He was also a U of L Cardinals fan and an “outdoorsman” who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
