Harold Frederick Snawder

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 11, 1936 to parents’ Nelson Edward Snawder & Carrie Hibbs. He was a self – employed Mason and Bricklayer by trade. Harold was an original member of the Ralph Avenue Baptist Church in the Shively community and attended the Parkwood Baptist Church. He was a 24 hour – a – day worker, laying brick. He was a self – made professional, laying brick for several large area projects including the Louisville – Muhammad Ali International Airport, several local churches and office buildings and complex, despite losing his left hand at the age of 19 in a work – related accident. Harold was a family man, who valued hard work.

Besides his parents’, Nelson Edward & Carrie Snawder; wife, Billie Snawder; son, Christopher Snawder; brothers, Kenneth David Snawder, Jerry Wayne Snawder & Bobby Ray Snawder, precede Harold in his passing.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Joyce (Don) Akridge, Lois Lane – Tilton & Lori Nel Steinsholt; brother & sisters – in – law, Paul (Robin) Young, Mary Jo Young & Carolyn Snawder; many nieces & nephews; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Burial will be in the Garden of Prayer of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums, with a private family gathering, where he will rest for eternity alongside his wife, Billie Snawder.
