Hazel (Payton) Fryrear, 91, of Louisville died peacefully Saturday June 15, 2013. She was a native of Ohio County KY, a member of the Louisville Girls High Alumni, U of L Alumni, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Epiphany United Methodist Church, and a proud graduate of the University of Louisville at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin B. Fryrear; grandsons, Stephen Fryrear, Jr. and Andrew Fryrear. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Fryrear (Shari) and Jeffrey Fryrear (Candalyn); a brother, Richard Payton (Jennette); grandchildlren, Jennifer Kyser and Jessica Kastan; and 5 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Hazel’s life will be held at 12 pm Wednesday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Interment will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be made to the South Louisville Christian Ministries or American Cancer Society.
