Helen Meagher

Helen Meagher, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on June 17, 2026. She was born on February 23, 1933, in Louisville, KY, Helen was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (McGuire) Holbourn. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ruth Holbourn, Margaret Schalda, and Betty Holbourn.

She attended Holy Name Elementary School, graduated from Presentation Academy High School, Class of 1951, and graduated from St Mary and Elizabeth Nursing Program. Her hard work and compassionate spirit were evident throughout her many years as a dedicated nurse at Our Lady of Peace.

Helen’s generosity and selfless love were most deeply felt by her family. A beloved mother to seven children, she poured herself into her family with unwavering devotion, and her legacy continues through thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Helen enjoyed the simple pleasures that made a house feel like home: cheering on U of L and the Cincinnati Reds, watching Jeopardy, and—most of all—spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her loving children, Patti Harmon (Steve), Chuck Meagher (Anna), Mark Meagher, Ronnie Meagher, Angie Passanisi (Mark), DeDe Delph (David), and Matt Meagher (Shannon); along with thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218, on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in the Chapel at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218 with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery 1600 Newburg Road Louisville, KY 40205.
