Henry was a laid-back person who found joy in simple pleasures. His preferred sport was to relax on the riverbank with a fishing pole in hand. After retiring, he remained close to home, cherishing time with his wifey and being a devoted fan, enjoying the excitement of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and football games and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He would never turn down a good card game and had a passion for horse racing and loved placing bets on his favorites. The Kentucky Derby was a particularly special time of year for him.
Henry is survived by his wife, Karen Wheeler; sister-in-law Debbie Schuler and her husband Richard; sister-in-law Trish Hibbs (Dennis); niece Mellisa Blankenship and her husband Brad; nephew Ryan Hibbs; and his two great-nephews and great-niece. He is also remembered by his extended family of uncles, aunts, and cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Wheeler Sr.; his mother Estelle Merkel Wheeler; his uncle Leroy Merkel; his sister Linda Wheeler; and his brother-in-law Dennis Hibbs.
