Herbert E. Knecht Jr.

Herbert E. Knecht Jr. Passed away January 29, 2014. He retired from General Electric after 43 years where he worked in the refrigeration department. He enjoyed and had a passion for family, golfing, gardening, walking, and woodworking. He was an avid UK Basket Ball Fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Knecht. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Cottrell (Mike) and Julie Ann Portnoy; son, Herbert Knecht III; grandchildren, Tara, Amanda, Cameron, and Herbie IV “Buck”; Sister, Judy Kapp; and his golfing buddies and friends, Woody and Hilton Davis.

His funeral service will be held 12 noon Monday at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. With entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 12-8 pm and after 10am on Monday.

The family encourages everyone coming to the funeral and visitation to Honor Herbert’s memory by wearing UK attire or UK Blue.
