They were both simple people. The most important thing to Herman & Carolyn was spending time with their family. They absolutely adored their children, grandchildren and great – grandchildren. You never saw them apart. They could always be seen together, unless they were working. Herman was a horseman by trade, working for many horse farms across the area eventually working at the Churchill Downs Stables and Carolyn worked for Steinmart in retail, where she retired. A big passion of theirs was to watch University of Kentucky Sports, never missing a basketball or football game.
Herman & Carolyn were truly a team in every sense and always stood united in any decision they made. They were dedicated parishioners of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, sitting in the same pew every week until COVID. Although, COVID changed their lives, it never changed the dedication to their church, faith & commitment to God.
