

An Army Veteran, Herschel carried himself with the steady sense of duty and quiet strength that service so often instills, leaving an enduring impression of commitment and honor.
Herschel’s life was rooted in family. He is survived by his wife, Elnora Frieerson; his sons, Herschel Frierson Jr. (Stacy) and Tony Booker; and his granddaughter, Sydney Desandier. He is also survived by his sisters, Clara Mosley, Delores Johnson, and Peggy Woods, and his brother, Randal Johnson (T).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sr. and Magnolia Johnson; his sister, Carsenia Johnson; and his brother, Roy Jonhson Jr.
A man of faith and fellowship, Herschel was connected to Canaan Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge Bluegrass 292, communities where his presence reflected a life shaped by devotion, loyalty, and respect for others.
Herschel will be deeply missed, and his memory will be held with honor by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to share in his life. Visitation will take place,Thursday, July 29, 2026 at 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm at Canaan Christian Church, 2840 Hikes Ln, Louisville, KY with burial to take place immediately following at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY.
