He was born to Margaret and Herschel on September 23, 1947. He proudly served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War and later in Japan and Germany. He retired as Sergeant First Class on November 30, 1990.
Herschel is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Fetters (Marc); grandsons, Matthew and Joshua Fetters, brothers, Rodney Smith (Janet Kemink) and Gordon Smith (Mindy); and nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Arch L. Heady Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, from 1 to until time of service.
A Celebration of Herschel's life will be held at 2:30pm at the funeral home.
