Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas and Kitty Ann; his wife of 54 years, Anna Lee Stephenson; his children, David and Beth; grandson, Charles; and his second wife, Evelyn.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Stephen Sallengs and Nancy Ray (Charlie); grandchildren, Thomas and Tim Sallengs, Lea Taylor, Lori Reese, Lisa Richardson, Lezli Bertleson, Amy Folks, Annie and Kenny Ray; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday at noon at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 1-8pm and Saturday 10am until the time for his service. Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.
