Hilda Luz Ramos, 77, passed away on September 7, 2026. Born on July 23, 1949, in Frederiksted in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Hilda built a life defined by steady devotion, generous care, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was deeply beloved and cherished, remembered for the kind-hearted, selfless way she showed up for others again and again.
Hilda retired from Executive West/ Crowne Plaza after 25 years of service, a testament to her hard work and reliability. She found joy in caring for those around her, and nowhere was that more evident than in her kitchen—she loved to cook for any and everybody, offering comfort and welcome through every meal. Her faith was also a central part of her life; she loved church and carried that love into the way she treated people, with warmth, patience, and grace. She also held a special tenderness for her fur babies, and especially her current one, “Kitty.” Hilda will be remembered with enduring gratitude—for her steadfast work ethic, her open handed care, her love of family, and the gentle goodness that made others feel seen, fed, and loved.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Ramos and Francisca Paquita Hernandez; her siblings, Efrain Ramos, Dennis James, Carmen Rodriguez, Anthony Marshall; her grandson, Troy Woods; and her fur babies, Peanut and Pippi.
Left to cherish her memory are her companion of 37 years, Jonathan Brooks; her siblings, Jose Morales, Irene Pena, Rosemary Figueroa; her children, Angel Caesar, Haig Caesar, II (Stephanie), Norma Anderson (Austin), George Ramos (Bebelene), Amon Ashford, Felicia Fortney, Nicole Taylor; her grandchildren, Whitney Woods, Haig Caesar, III, Dominique Woods; her great-grandchildren, Whilloe Woods Jefferson, Wynnter Wilson, Nova Wilson, Ja'sir Woods; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews whom she cherished.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, , Louisville, Kentucky, on September 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at Evergreen Funeral Home on September 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Burial will be private.
