In 1955, she married Norman and moved to Kentucky to start a family. As a family, there were many years of swimming and boating at their camp on the river and trips to Panama City Beach. Ida enjoyed cooking Italian dishes and serving others. She loved animals, especially cats. She was a devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. Her prayers in Italian will be a cherished memory by all who heard them.
She was heartbroken by the loss of Norman, her husband, for nearly 60 years, and the unexpected passing of Sandy, her beloved daughter. Ida was still able to bring a smile and laughter to all those who cared for her. She will be greatly missed on Earth, but there is comfort knowing she is reunited with Norman and Sandy in Heaven.
Left to cherish Ida’s memory are her son: Perry Johnson (Victoria); her grandchildren: Camille Pavone, Jeanelle Hume (Hunter), and Micah Johnson (Hillary); her great-grandchildren: Christiana, MaKaylee, Hunter, Alexander, and Lyra.
A service to honor Ida will be 2 PM Friday, August 14, 2026, at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12-2 PM at the funeral home. Ida will be laid to rest privately at Resthaven Memorial Park.
