SPURLIN, IDA (WINCHELL), 95, passed away peacefully on Friday June 17, 2011 at her home. She was a member of SS. Simon & Jude Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a her youngest daughter, Nellie May Buehler. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, S. C. Spurlin; daughters, Cathy Schaffer (Roger), Carrie Bibelhauser, Edna Spurlin and Effie Hall; a son, John Spurlin (Joan); son-in-law, Paul Buehler; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Spurlin's life will be held noon Monday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Private burial will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday. The family is especially grateful to Hosparus for their assistance. Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
