Irene Pifer

died October 13, 2015. She was born in Louisville KY on February 10, 1936 to Leroy and Davie Gaines. She grew up in the Cresent Hill neighborhood. She was a beloved and devoted daughter, wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother and Christian. She loved Jesus more than life and was always serving people in his name. She never met a stranger and always let others know that she loved them but, Jesus loves them more. She leaves a Christian legacy that reached far beyond what she could have imagined. She loved working in her flower beds, being with people and especially talking. She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father Leroy and Davie Gaines and by a Grandson Michael Wayne Pifer. She is survived by her husband David Pifer. Her son Wayne Pifer (Jatana), Daughter Cindy Pifer-Hedges, Son Kevin Pifer (Kim), 4 granddaughters April Moore, Krystal Hedges, Emily and Sarah Pifer, 2 great granddaughters Isha and Jasmine Hedges and great grandson Sean Hedges. Visitation will be on Friday October 16 from 3PM- 8PM. Funeral is Saturday, October 17 at 11:00. Both Funeral and Visitation will be at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Rd with burial to follow after service on Saturday at Cave Hill Cemetery.
