

Jack Bruce Cruse died on Wednesday September 6, 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on September 10, 1947, to Eugene & Virginia Cruse. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Jeff.
He was married to his loving wife, Linda, for 47 years. They enjoyed family gatherings, their Florida vacations and watching their son play sports.
He is survived by his son Brian (Sophia), daughter Jennifer (John), his grandsons Mark and Ryne (Jordan) and great grandson Luke. His brother-like brother-in-law Jeff Calk (Holly) and his special nieces Isabella and Adeline. Also, by his brother-in-law Robert Calk (Melissa) and nieces Allison & Whitney.
And, by his sister Jerry (Herb deceased) and nephew David (Sarah) and grand nephews.
Jack graduated from Somerset High School and Eastern Kentucky University, where he played varsity tennis.
Jack had a long sales & marketing career at GE Appliances and later with The Stevenson Company in market research.
Jack was a long-time competitive tennis player and enjoyed his senior doubles leagues. He had a passion for youth baseball, coaching in St. Matthews & AAU leagues. He loved announcing games for Kentucky Country Day baseball games while his son played and even after. He was a sports enthusiast, and a lifetime fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Browns.
Jack was a Christian - Southern Baptist and a longtime member of Westport Road Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2023, from 10 am – 12 pm with a service following at 12:00 pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222. Private burial will take place with the family at Cave Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate gifts to the Westport Road Baptist Church Youth Ministry at 9705 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40241, or The V Foundation.
