Kent animal shelter was finally rebuilt in Calverton Long Island and will reopen in a few weeks. There is a memorial garden and they will finally place the stone we brought for Jack to honor his life and friendship.

My name is Lynn Gay Smiley Murdock. I was in school with Jack and thought very highly of him. I remember when he was hurt in  Jr high. I brought him lunch most days since he couldn’t go to lunch room. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing but I’m sure he’s in a very peaceful place.   We are losing so many of our friends. Prayers for all of the family.

Linda and family, I knew Jack through GE Appliances, but mostly through St Matthews Baseball during his second stint as a coach.  I loved that Jack wanted to coach and mentor young boys even when he didn't have sons or daughters in the league.  We needed men like Jack and he was always willing to do whatever I asked of him.  I am so sorry for your loss and wanted to thank you to Jack's contribution to St. Matthews.   He will be missed.

Jack was the oldest, not by much, of the 7 first cousins from the WO Holtzclaw family.
He had the best smile and a way about him that just made him seem special.. and he was.
The world has lost someone who
made the world a better place. He will be missed.

Jack has been a longtime friend. First met on the tennis courts in Louisville, late 70's or early 80's. A good man, a good friend and a very good tennis player. All around good guy, and levelheaded in all respects. 
 It turns out that in 1963 he and I attended the same  high school basketball game in Somerset. Seneca HS played Somerset HS at Somerset - 40-50 of us took a school bus to Somerset for the game. Seneca was # 3 in the country but Somerset was tough, we won by only about 6 points.  Glad I met Jack about 15 years later.

Jack was a friend and boss for many years on 2 separate occasions during his GE career. He was high energy and always positive. He was quite the chart master and spent a lot of time looking over my shoulder making changes faster than I could type. And I wouldn't change a minute of that time! Jack kept in touch after he left GE and after my retirement. I'll miss chatting with  him and sharing news about our GE friends. "Cruiser" rest in peace. You made a difference in the lives of so many people.

Jack was such a great person.  I have so many terrific memories of Jack through the years at GE.  He was a remarkable mentor and a wonderful friend.  Jack always made you feel better after talking with him and couldn always make you smile.  My thoughts and prayers are with Linda and the family.   Until we meet again Jack!

our hearts are broken. Susan and I feel terrible , as this is a tremendous loss. Jack and  I have been friends for over thirty years. w e met through business but it extended, and grew way beyond that. we spent wonderful times with Jack and Linda attending the Kentucky Derby. I apppreciated all the time he spent meeting with the NATM group. We kept in touch after retirement,speaking weekly. Sometimes we spoke two to three times a week about sports We would laugh when we would talk rivals as I ama Yankees fan and he was an Atlanta Braves fan. When it came to college basketball, Jack would try to convince me that Kentucky was going to take it all and win the National Championship. B most of the time they came up short Our friendship was effortless. One I will never forget In honor of Jack’s memory,Susan and I will have a memorial stone made with his name and placed at the Kent animal shelter in Calverton,LongIsland  Jack, I’m truly going to miss you  May you rest in peace.

Jack will be remembered for his integrity, honesty, and sense of humor.
I attended a G.E. sponsored golf outing about 15 years ago in 
Louisville.
I am not a good golfer.  Before the tournament started, Jack walked up to me and said, "Tom, your handicap for the tournament is 36."  I said, "Why 36?"  And Jack replied,  "Because that's the highest we can give."  I still laugh when I think about it.
In between the fun, we always did some business.

The smiles and the smirks in these photos really do capture "Jack Cruse" for me.  What an amazing impact on so many people.

I earned the nickname "Uno" from Jack and cherish it.  It will always remind me of my beloved AZ Wildcats men's hoop team beating his UK Wildcat hoop team in 1997 for our one and only national championship title.   And yes in 2023, AZ still is at "Uno".  

I have Jack's cell number registered in my phone as "Mouth of the South Jack Cruse".  I never knew what I was going to get but I knew the call would never be boring.  He got the first, last, and most words in every conversation speaking in that prideful KY voice.  

A proud husband and father who not only shared stories of his family life but always, always, always wanted to know what was going in our lives too. 

Forever grateful for being a friend of Jack Cruse.

Jack was a blessing to his family, freinds, peers and customers.
He was competiive in business and sports. Always cheerful and helpful. He ran the race of life to win and did so to the end.
The Lord has probably already told him that he was a good and faithful servant. May the peace that passes all understanding comfort his family as they mourn his departure.

It is with deep regard I hear the news of Jack’s passing.  I knew Jack for close to 40 years while he exceeded in the appliance industry with GE. I spent my career at whirlpool so we competed for the same business all those years. I must say I never worked with or around anyone like Jack. His commitment to his company, our industry, and appliance-retailers and builders across this country was second to none. Jack was my friend and took every opportunity when we met to “catch up!”  Jack had tremendous respect for everyone he worked with or competed against and the respect for Jack  was 10 fold the respect he gave.  He was a man of integrity, honor, he had a true spirit of winning and was an overall very good man. May Jack rest in Gods arms and may God bless you all as you mourn you loss.

Jack and I had some great times talking about Ole Miss and Kentucky.  He would travel to Ole Miss and I would travel to Lexington to watch our teams play. He thought his CATS  
were going to win and I thought my Rebels were going to win. I will miss the weekly calls we had to talk about sports.  A GREAT MAN

Played tennis with Jack regularly on Tuesday nights.  He was an enthusiastic player and partner.  Always enjoyed chatting with him afterwards, when we all grabbed a bite and pint, about business and travel.  Jack will be missed by his tennis buddies.
