Jack was a professor at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry for 36 years, and still was working full-time when he recently became ill. The faculty, students and patients there were his second family and the outpouring of thoughts, prayers and love in recent weeks was humbling.
He was born October 9, 1934 in Buckhorn, KY to Clifton and Gladys (Lickert) Morris. Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carolyn Buehler; his brother, Joe; and, his sister, Betty.
Those left to cherish his memory include his four beautiful daughters, Ruth Morris (Tim Culver), Anne Petroskey, Judy Hammond (Lisa Walden), and Lynn Ball (Eric). He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 21 from 3-7 pm with a memorial service immediately following at 7 pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the "Dr. Jack Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund" at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, 501 S. Preston Street, Louisville, KY 40202.
