He was born July 3, 1940 in Louisville, KY, to the late James William Shaffer Sr. and Dorothy Lee Johnson Roark.
Jack was an adventurous man and lived his life to the fullest enjoying what he loved, hunting, fishing, country music shows and race cars, to name a few. He was also a retired employee of GE.
Along with his mother, Dorothy, left to carry on his memory are brother, James Shaffer Jr.; sisters, Joyce Hahn (Oscar), Betty Gray (Don); best friend, Doris Shaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Jack will be noon Wednesday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Private burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. To leave condolences, please visit www.archlheadyresthaven.com
