

Born October 22, 1934 in Louisville to Francis and Dorothy Tompkins, Jack was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan and enjoyed many a good poker game. He was a loving father, whose life centered on his family. Jack was a long time parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church community. He touched many lives in various ways during his 44 years with Winn-Dixie while holding several management positions. He enjoyed his long standing membership with the Lyndon Elks Club #2052 for over 40 years, where he served in various leadership positions. Jack was loved for his generous caring spirit and kindness. He was also a devoted husband to his wife of nine years, Pam Whitlock.
Jack has gone on to rest with his first wife of 49 years Jenna Weber Tompkins, who preceded him in death in 2004, his son Martin Kevin Tompkins, Sr. (Beth) who passed away in 2006, and his brother Earl, who passed away in October 2017.
He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Potts (Doug) and Mary Ann Johnson; children, Tommy, Sharon, Jenna Rose, Mark (Patty) and Kathleen (Gary) as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 3 to 8 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church at 10 am on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, followed by entombment at Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville.
