

She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin L. Carrithers, her parents William and Della M. Rose Abrams of Olive Hill, KY, her 3 brothers Emerald, Gene, Sam and sister Mary Rose.
She attended Morehead State University where she earned her BA in Education. She began her career with her husband in Gallipolis, OH before moving to Louisville, KY and teaching in the JCPS system. After retiring from teaching she became an associate at Byck’s Exclusive Dress Shop beginning her new-found interest in fashion. She was very active in the Compass Club, Key to the City and her beloved Fillies Club. While being a member she was very active in developing and organizing style shows and luncheons. Always active, she loved the outdoors enjoyed boating, water skiing, traveling and shopping. She owned and operated a successful booth at the antique mall for several years. Jackie was also active in volunteer work with the Derby museum, supporter of both Nortons Children Hospital and Kentucky Colonels. She and her husband were members of Wildwood Country Club for 30+ years. She loved the Lord and was a proud long-time member of Southeast Christian Church.
Jackie is survived by her loving son Jeffrey A and daughter in law Elisa. A step grandchild Wesley Zane Husband his wife Laura and three beautiful step great-grandchildren Ava Joan, Frankie, and Patrick.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Louisville Heart Association, Cancer Research Foundations or Norton’s Children Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 6, 2025 at 11 AM, conducted by Reverend Bob Russell, in the funeral home chapel with interment at the Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum.
