James "Arnold" Brown Sr.

James “Arnold” Brown Sr., 84, of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Friday, August 2, 2024. He was born on September 12, 1939 to late parents Howard P. Brown and Hattie Hall.

Arnold was a student of the first graduating class of Trinity High School but left early to join the Navy. After becoming a veteran, he received an official “Class of 2021” graduation diploma. Arnold was also a long-time member of St. Frances of Rome church.

He is preceded in death by brothers Howard “Junie”, David, and Gerald Brown, and his special uncle Coy. He is survived by his wife, Donna, of 62 years, children; Jeanne Marie Downs (Denny), Jamie Brown (Carol), Lisa Shely, and Chrisey Lyon (Marty Willinger). Siblings; Doyle Brown (Bonnie), Gayle Brown (Norma), and Sandy Deel. Grandchildren; Pete (Paige), Caitlin, and Zachary Burkey; Kelsie Downs, Emma Brown, Gracie Shely; Nikki, Tyler, and Megan Lyon. Great-grandchildren; Kayleigh, Evelyn, and Lillian Burkey, and bonus grandchildren; Austin, Brandon, Corey, and Daniel Willinger; Kevin and Jeremy Downs, plus a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 2pm to 8pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40222 with a Mass of Christian Burial the following day at 10am Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at St. Frances of Rome Church. Interment to follow at 2:30pm at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky.
