BURKE, James Ellis “Bear” 91 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, December, 20, 2012. He was a retired mailroom supervisor at the old Liberty National Bank. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in WW II. While in the Army he was the recipient of a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars an a E.A.M.E. Campaign Medal. He was also a member of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth.
He is survived by his children, Larry (Donna), Mike (Karen) and Judy McGaha (Mark), Theresa Sanders (Jim) and Lisa M. Carey; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one still cooking; he is also survived by his brother, Dave Burke.
His Funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Evergreen Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00-8:00p.m. at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services 8515 Preston HWY.
