James Carlton, 89, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2013 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was a native of Rockcastle County, KY and had retired from General Electric at the age of 67. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army; and was a member of Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and both of his wives; Rosie, whom he was married to for 45 years, and Jessie, whom he was married to for 11 years.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Carolyn (William) Smith; granddaughter, Susan (Scott) Rhymer; great-granddaughter, Sofia Rhymer; step-children, Allison Back and her children, Scott Whitehouse, Beth Branham and her children; beloved caregiver, Bonnie Howard; and beloved nephew, Jerry Kaiser.
A Life Celebration service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and after 12 on Friday at the funeral home.
