James Robert Carr

James Robert Carr, 90, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 9, 2016. He was born December 4, 1925, in Corbin, KY, to the late Elbert and Thelma Garland Carr. James was a Fireman First Class in the United States Navy.

Left to cherish James’ memory are his children Jim Carr (Sharon), David Carr (JoAnn), and Sandy Patrick (Michael), four grandchildren, Emily Benson (Matt), Sarah Hoke (Josh), Jasun Carr (Carmen) and Amelia Carr, six great grandchildren, Eleanor Benson, Alice Benson, Elisa Carr, Gavin Soza, Konnor Morse and Aaron Hoke, and his sister in law Maxine Bowling. James will also be remembered fondly by a very dear friend, Charlotte Snyder.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jo Carr.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Westminster Health Care staff for all the love and attention they provided Jim. He truly considered Westminster his home and the residents his family.

Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2016 from 12 until 2 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A Private Celebration of Life will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
