

He was born on Tuesday, October 21, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the lates’ Allie and Henry Cary. Jimmy graduated from Southern High School and received an associate’s degree from Jefferson Community College. He was married to Roseanna Cary on August 24, 1986. Jimmy owned and operated Jim Cary Painting.
Jimmy was a heart transplant survivor. He was a true inspiration to those around him throughout his health battles. He was one of the longest surviving heart transplant recipients, receiving his life saving transplant in 1997.
He was member of Trinity Assembly of God, Jimmy also served on the church and school boards and had a passion for golfing, family, bowling and sharing the gospel.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Allie and Henry Cary; his sister, Amanda Kaye; brother, John; and children, Tonya and Ronnie.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Roseanna Cary; children, Angela (Mick) Floden, Jimmy Cary, David Cary, Allison (Mike) Bensing and Trinity Cary; grandchildren, Glenn, Luke, Allie, Rosana, Siana and Aubrey; his sisters – in – law, Kathy Harley and Sharon Sullivan; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. in Heady Memorial Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel. Jimmy will be laid to rest in Cave Hill Cemetery following the Funeral Service. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and then again on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the Funeral Hour of 12:30 p.m. also at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel.
In lieu of flowers and customary expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be directed to the American Heart Association or Trinity Assembly of God
