He was co-owner with his wife Betty of Professional Accounting and Tax Services Inc., but his true passion was his music and was a headliner entertainer in Ft. Meyers Beach, FL, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a longtime member of the, American Legion, VFW and Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. Jr., and Rose Diersing Cecil.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Cecil; daughters Tamara Cecil Melton (Kenneth), Susan Cecil Williams (Joseph) and Jennifer Lynn Cecil (Jericho Cook); grandchildren, Weston, Amanda, Dallas, Priscilla and Morgan (Justin); and great-grandson, Bryson; brother, Thomas Cecil (Cyndi) and sister Marcia Cecil (Bobby Hoe).
His funeral service will be Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home 7710 Dixie Hwy with burial following in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
