James Philip “J.P.” Cooksey, 86, of Louisville passed away Wednesday April 8, 2015. A native of Horse Branch, KY he was retired from the Kroger Co.; a member of Mosaic United Methodist Church, and Masonic Lodge #863. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Frances Willis; a daughter, Ruth Young; a foster sister, Freda Ford Powell; grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher. His funeral will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
