Your smile always lit up any room that you came in.  You had the most genuine and gentle way about you that nobody could ever top!  You were and will always be my best friend! I remember waking up every day as a child and knowing I couldn’t start my day until we were together; playing in the street, walking to Easy Shop for candy, riding our bikes to McDonald’s for a sundae, and best of all swimming all day in my pool with Shelly, Michael, Jason, and our friends. Those have always been the best memories to me and I will cherish them! I love you! Lisa

James was truly a bright light in this world. He was such a caring and empathetic man who always had a smile and a funny comment when needed! James and Jason, my nephew were perfect foils for one another...yin & and yang. James will be missed by so many people but I take comfort that he's reunited with others he loved so dearly. His Mom, Dad and Jason for sure.  I know he will be so missed by those he left behind.

Growing up, James was my "ride or die". We did everything from riding our bikes to Easy shop for our candy cigarettes (because we were cool like that), to spending weekends at Skateworld, to getting in trouble at school for talking too much (which of course wasn't true, the teacher just didn't like us).
As we got older and we took different paths we didn't talk as much but no matter the time between visits, we picked up where we left off. It always started with a hug, some small talk and then James asking, "So, are we going to talk about this hairstyle?" or "When are you going to let me help with your wardrobe?" He loved to give me grief about my lack of style, while he always looked like he just walked off the runway. 
James owned a room when he walked in. His kind, gentle heart radiated through his beautiful smile. He was genuinely one of the most loving, caring, giving men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
The love he shared for Margie was like no other. He would have and did do anything for her as she did for him. They weren't just mother and son, they were best friends. The only peace I have with his passing is believing he is once again side by side with her. 
This world will not be the same without you in it James. I wish I had done better with staying in touch. Just know how very much I treasure the memories I have with you, you were my first best friend, and I will never forget the love we shared. I pray you are finally at peace.

James, I love you and me and Zaiden are going to miss you. You were my favorite boss ever who turned into such a good friend. You are going to be missed so much.

James hired me in November and working for him in this industry was a breath of fresh air. He was the best manager I ever had. Very open and honest about everything. He worked so hard and was very dedicated to his job. We had lots of fun a work, lunch outings and the trip to FL. I will truly miss him so much. The office will never be the same and it is so hard going to work now. To the family and friends I am so sorry for your great loss. He loved you all so much. I even feel like I know some of you lol. I am keeping you all in my prayers. If I feel the way I feeling only knowing him less than a year, I can only imagine the immense pain you are in. RIP James

We here at Award Lawn Care are saddened to hear the passing of James. Taylor and I were texting him after the passing of his mother. We sent him gifts. He will truly be missed as a friend and a buissness associate. He helped so many people.

Michael Jason Amber Sheri it literally breaks my heart to hear this. James was such a sweet kind soul. He always smiled every time I see him. He would always have a big smile on his face. I am so so so sorry. I wish I was there so I can come to the service, but I want you guys to know that I’m thinking of you and I’m praying for you all such a tragedy, such a loss of such a beautiful soul of a man. maybe it was just too much for James, his heart was broken. He lost his partner and he lost his mom. I know he’s up in heaven with his mom and his dad and his partner and he’s happy he’s got that big smile on his face again I’m so so sorry love you all. Rita

I met James when I was working as an assistant manager at Cedar Springs and he came in as the new regional. What started as a work relationship quickly turned into a friendship that would stay with me for years. James had this rare kind of light about him. He was funny, kind, and always made people feel seen. He didn’t just lead, he truly cared. He looked out for everyone around him, and he never hesitated to help, no matter how busy he was.

I leaned on him more than he probably knew. I would call and text him constantly for advice, and he always had the right words. He was steady, wise, and full of heart. Even after we stopped working together, we stayed in touch. Every dinner we shared felt like picking up right where we left off. We used to joke about working together again someday, and I held onto that hope.

I was devastated to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to his family and all who loved him. James made a lasting impact on my life, and I will never forget him.
