
Originally from Louisville, he was the son of the late William and Jean Goodwin.
Jim enjoyed a long, successful career leading new product development in the beverage industry. He retired from 23 years at Bacardi, developing new products for various worldwide markets. He spent his short retirement making positive changes in his community and spending precious time with his two granddaughters and his beloved family and friends. He was a hard working man of integrity, fairness and honesty. He touched and positively influenced the lives of those around him. His life was a shining example of how to be the best husband, father and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Horrell Goodwin, of Jacksonville, FL; his son, Scott Goodwin (Tracie); and grandchildren, Riley and Sydney Goodwin, of Cocoa, FL; his daughter, Jenny Goodwin; of Atlanta, GA; his sister, Linda Neubeck (Richard), of Ft. Pierce, FL; and his brother, Dan Goodwin (Lynn), of Louisville.
Visitation will be held 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223. Memorial service will be held 11a.m. Wednesday at Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, 32223. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pewee Valley Confederate Cemetery Maple Avenue, Pewee Valley, KY 40056.
