James Goomey

Jim was a member of Southeast Christian church. He started working in the automobile industry at age 19 and did so his whole career, including at American Motors, Ford Motor Company and Chrysler. He also served as a consultant for other companies in the industry. In his early years Jim went to Green Bay East High school where he was the senior class president. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. No matter where he was, he had to speak to anyone with Packer gear on.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Joyce Goomey, son, Danny Goomey, grandson, Joshua Goomey and 3 great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, David Goomey, Debbie Bradshaw, Denis (Robbin) Goomey, and Deena (Brian) Hinton, Donnie Mitchell, Kathy Allen, Carrie (Don) Pike, Kim (John) Wilson and Christy (Kevin) Mercer; 17 Grandchildren, 26 Great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.

A visitation for Jim will be held Thursday, January 5th, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218). A second visitation will occur Friday, January 6th, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Southeast Christian Church (920 Blankenbaker Parkway, Louisville, Kentucky 40243), followed by a funeral service at 11 AM.

A last prayer and the burial will be at Resthaven at 9:45 on Saturday January 7th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Norton Hospital Foundation to support the Cancer Institute.
