

James Blaine, 90, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. He was born in Louisville, KY, on July 17, 1921.
He was a WWII veteran serving 3 ½ years overseas in the U.S. Army. During his enlistment he served his country in N. Africa, Sicily, Italy and Okinawa. He retired from the engineering department at South Central Bell after 43 years of dedicated service. James was a former Mayor of St. Regis Park, Boy Scout Master of Troop # 349, volunteer of both SEAM and Dare to Care, member of Telephone Pioneers of America, and one of the founding members of St. Andrews United Church of Christ.
Both Parents and four sisters preceded him in death.
Along with his wife of 63 years, Doris L. Harrison, formally Doris L. Hockersmith. James is survived by two sons, Bruce S. Harrison (Barbara) and James Terry Harrison; grandson, Roy Harrison (Jennifer); two great granddaughters, Issy and Sophie; and great grandson, Robert Blaine.
A service celebrating the life of James will be noon Friday at Arch l. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
